How to compensate springback enlarge bending tools radius?
When you are running a press brake in normal situatio, the inside bending tools radius that falls between 63 percent of the material thickness and 10 times the sheet thickness is called a radius bending. If the bending radius is less than 63 percent of the material thickness, it is called acute bending. Sometimes for Radius much bigger than sheet metarial with formimng radius tools.
Normally, bottom V-die angles are used to compensate for this large change in springback. V-die angles change with size of the V-die opening.
From 4-12mm V-die openings, the angle is 90 degrees.
From 12-25mm V-die opening, the angle is 88 degrees.
From 25-50mm V-die opening, the angle is 85 degrees.
The change in the V-die angle is to assist the material around the punch radius, helping to compensate for the increased springback found in larger material thicknesses and larger bend radius.
A perfect lower V-die angle can be determined using this formula: Bending angle - Springback = V-die angle
Like 90-degree angle - 13-degree springback = 77-degree die angle, this specially for high tensile strength sheet bending, big spring back must be with high sheet bending tonnage press brakes.
When the bending tools angle is changed on a standard bending dies, the result is interference between the top punch and bottom die, causing coining to take place on both sides of the punch and die.If coining bending way is allowed to occur on a profound-radius bend, flats will be produced on both sides of the punch. One solution to this situation is to use a relieved die. This style of V die removes all interaction between the punch and die, regardless of the bending angle. When the die is relieved, the punch passes freely into the V-die body, taking advantage of the V-die angle in compensating for springback.
